This morning I had to get gas before work, because like a silly person I forgot to get it last night. The closest gas station to my house is a 7-11 which is definitely sketchy, but thankfully my car does not care where its gas comes from. I pulled up to the only open pump and of course it was broken – the “select debit/credit” buttons were not working. I had some cash on me, so I ran inside to pay the cashier, and standing in line it struck me that I had not been inside this particular 7-11 in what felt like forever! This is significant because when I was binging all the time, this was a favorite place to stop (near my house, open 24 hours, has baked goods – what more do you need?). But as I was looking around at all the new stuff and finding it both unfamiliar and familiar, it served as a reminder for all the changes I’ve made and it felt good. Even better that I was on my way for a pre-work workout instead of loading up on donuts.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
