I had this great idea where during my lunch break instead of lying on the couch and watching Youtube videos, I would go lay at the pool in my apartment complex – great way to get some vitamin D (with appropriate sunblock of course) and swim a little and read rather than just watch silly stuff. Of course since I had this brilliant idea it has been overcast every day. ๐Ÿ™‚ I would be happy if it actually rained, because we need it, but no – just dark, ominous clouds with no actual precipitation.

Another thing I was thinking of as I ruminated on how I ruin my progress during the weekends, is that while I do want to make sure I get a 2-day break from Vyvanse, why does that necessarily have to be Saturday and Sunday? What if I made it, like, Weds-Thurs or Thurs-Fri? It might make the gym a little harder to get to, but then again it might not – the last two days I’ve woken up at 4am on my on own. Also, my cats usually insist on breakfast by 6:30am at the latest, they are used to being fed at 4:30 so that’s sleeping in as far as they are concerned. I could just take it when I wake up and then go back to bed for an hour until it kicks in. I think I might give it a try this week!

Lastly, I have been thinking a lot of the fall of 2022, which was the last time I was successful in losing weight (got down to 236, then Jester passed away…) Anyway, one thing I remember is that I was eating HUGE meals for dinner – like 1.5-2lbs of ribeye, which seems crazy now, but I was still losing weight! And I remember back to when I was doing crazy amounts of martial arts – training 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week, I was stuck solidly at 250 lbs. One particularly stressful week right before a belt test I binged every day….and dropped down to 238. So I wonder if maybe part of my issue is that I’m not eating enough. That can also exacerbate binging which would explain why I have such a hard time controlling it on the weekends.

Lots to think about, but I’m happy these things are coming up, because as I said before the whole point here is to be agile and make changes while figuring out what works.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
