What a week.
Two days in the office were fun and exhausting. I forgot what it’s like to people all day, and I forgot what it’s like to be surrounded by snacks and treats and things I would much rather be doing than working.
Overall though, this has been a good week. I decided to do Centr Ignite instead of Power and I think it’s a much better fit right now – still has weights, but it’s much more cardio focused and my cardio has always been lacking. It doesn’t sap all of my energy like Power does (which considering my energy levels are already not up to normal, pre-covid levels, that is super valuable.)
3rd week on the job is still super terrifying, still really hoping I can do this, hoping I won’t suck at it. But I did get two magical mornings with Griffy – I can’t remember the last time I had a job that didn’t start at 7am, but man I’ll take it. Of course the flip side is, it’s hard to make myself work until 5-5:30, because once 4pm hits I’m ready for the couch. But I’ll adjust, I’m sure.
Yesterday I rode which was awesome. Today we went for a walk, which was less awesome. It was humid, I felt slow and plodding, my ankle was killing me (I should really wear a brace at the barn) and well….it just made me realize I need to work on that. Plus I went to lunch with a co-worker recently and he walked so fast…I always used to think of myself as a fast walker but I think years of being overweight, foot pain, ankle pain, knee pain, etc. have all made me slow. Next sprint will definitely have ankle PT & some walks in it.
