You know, this whole time, I don’t think I’ve spelled triathlon right the first try even once.

Training & posting kind of fell off for a couple of weeks, not sure why, except yes I am, I’m overwhelmed and overcommitted and I took on too much and it’s dumb. But hey, I just have to get through until August and I can do it, right?

….right?

Anyway, did a 2 mile walk today in 38:17 which is a pretty solid improvement over last time! And more importantly I didn’t feel so spent afterwards, like I could have done more, so that’s exciting. Maybe this isn’t the worst idea ever, but I still wish the swim was longer. Anyway, I don’t have a riding lesson this Saturday so I’m going to try and go to the gym early and do a little mini-tri and just see how it goes doing all 3 things consecutively. I still don’t really understand how it works since you swim first – do I change? Do I just run/bike in my bathing suit (ew)?

I’ve also started re-training my horse for mounted archery, and I’ve decided I’m going to take it very, very slowly – right now, I could probably get on him and shoot if someone was leading him, but I want him to be as calm and relaxed around me shooting as he can possibly be. I was thinking of my experience in California and how the mule I rode (loved her) was so unfazed by anything, it really gave me confidence. I want that in him and I think we can get there if we take our time. I just have to make sure I’m consistent with everything, which is of course always the biggest challenge. I also have to get better at archery because last Saturday I wasted most of our time looking for a rogue arrow. Freaking hate that.
